One at a time – a series of posts where I will examine a single image – today it’s the turn of City Briefcase.
The light struck me as I was walking to the bus stop on my way home from the office. I was tired, but the rays energised me in only the way that hope and the sight of possibility can.
I suppose it must be like an angler who not only finds the perfect spot, but also sees that the fish are jumping and the line is tight as it dangles in a sea of opportunity.
For me, this is the perfect example of fishing for light. I knew the shot, well, a shot, would happen; I just had to wait. And wait, I did. Much to the perplexity of the security staff at the nearby restaurant.
I knew, as I saw the chap approaching, that it might make, and then, when I looked at the back of the camera, I had that all too unfamiliar sensation that it was the one.
I offered it to the boss as page two, but sadly to no avail; however, the editor did ask for a copy. The fact that it hangs in his office makes me as proud as punch.
